When PhantomCat passes on, his ghost returns to the home of the long and short hairs, to find someone for whom he can ghost write the next in his Amethyst Leopard series. Finding a new kitten, LuccaCat, willing and able to learn to write novels, they embark on a quest to write the definitive ghost story. This time Amethyst Leopard is asked to assist the Society of Pooches and Cat Antagonizers find out who caused the unexpected passing of the Duke of Yorkshire Terriers. Interviewing breed leaders and other nefarious characters, Amethyst decides to follow the uncommon path to an explanation, meeting the unexpected explanation.
