Set at the beginning of the 20th Century, this novel follows the lives of two young people from very different backgrounds whose paths meet in Barcelona before the Spanish Civil War. Rosario and her sister move to Barcelona to escape a restricted, small-town life. She becomes a famous singer. One night, she meets Tobias, a young engineer from a good family, who just returned after a long stay in the United States. The two fall instantly in love. Sometimes, however, dreams do not always come true and you having to be willing to trade them for others.
